Looting in the Point

During the storm I had several things taken from my house. Some things I could totally understand, because they were necessities like candles, flashlights and gas siphoned from my car. But other things like computers, a play station, jewelry and tennis shoes I can not understand. My insurance adjuster says I'll have to make a separate theft claim and pay a separate deductible.

Anyone else had this problem? Did they report it to the police?

I am trying to locate an elderly black lady named Sylvia Butler who resided at the above address. It is right across from the Kern warehouses next to the levee. Can anyone tell me if her house is still standing, or if you have any idea what has become of her?

Is anyone in their homes on Evelina or recently returned to the neighborhood? I'm planning to return this weekend from Norman, Oklahoma to start the rebuilding process and was curious to know how many places along Evelina have power restored? My place is at 821 (yes, the little brick place with the tree through the roof). :)

If it is not too late, I'd like to add my name to the petition to return to Algiers list.

We had just celebrated the one year anniversary of purchasing our beautiful home, which we love! I have always wanted to live in Algiers Point, it was a dream location for me. I'd like to see my house, my yard, my belongings again.

As for the FBI possibly using my home: my only request that they stay out of my shrine room -- it's sacred.
