Key words: “swine flu” “pandemic”
Ready?
Set?
PANIC!!!!!
(An alternative title I considered for this post: “Everybody calm down, please”. But that would have been entirely too boring…)
For quite awhile, I’ve been focusing (haha Polimom! Good pun!) this blog primarily on photography — or at least, trying to use my photography to enhance how I look at the world.
Yes, I’ve babbled and dabbled about politics here and there, but for the most part, I’ve held back — not necessarily because I wasn’t […]
If you stand in the middle but the line gets moved, what happens? I guess the Republicans can just ask Arlen Specter, who today declared his intention to switch parties.
Since my election in 1980, as part of the Reagan Big Tent, the Republican Party has moved far to the right. Last year, more than […]
Polimom and Dear Husband spent the past weekend in the Arkansas mountains (again) — but this time, we weren’t hiking or canoeing. Rather, we were poking around at real estate, hoping to find a vacation spot (aka Polimom’s “Bolt Hole”).

Very few people ever forget to wish me Happy Birthday — not because I’m remarkably beloved or special, but because everyone is reminded of the date as it approaches.
“April 15th. Income Tax Day! Yuck!! Oh — that reminds me that I need to call Polimom.”
*sigh*
Ah well — at least they still remember me, which really […]
Yesterday, the made-for-television drama off the Somali coast came to the most successful conclusion possible. The heroic Captain Phillips was rescued, unharmed, and the three pirates in the lifeboat with him at the time were killed.
I can’t imagine a better outcome, frankly.
And unless you’re a right wing radio talker or ODS-suffering blogger (OMG what’s wrong […]
