I’m a Spectator Now!

Posted on Monday 20 October 2008

I haven’t had a lot to say the last few days — at least, not here on the blog.   Why bother?  The shouting and shrieking is hitting a crescendo, and there’s not a lot of point in voicing my tiny voice — here or anywhere.

This weekend, in particular, was bad… and somewhere between the ignorance of the woman in the diner in North Carolina and the vilification of Colin Powell, I finally hit the over-saturation point on the elections.

Luckily, they opened the polls today here in Texas for early voting.

:>

Y’all just go ahead and self-combust.  My vote is cast.

I agree. Between the McCain-Palin folks displaying their stupidity or hate, and the “Obama is a god” and “Palin is, like, so stupid” people, I am almost wishing that the world would go back to freaking out about Paris/Britney/Lindsey/moronic person of the week.

    America,
After the election we all still have to live in the same country, and work together to make the world a better place.
Love the American democratic process, or vote another one in.

Pan — You used exactly the right word. It is the hate manifesting that disturbs me so much.

I am hoping that Nov 5 finds everyone slapping eachother on the back and saying “Good game! See ya at the next big match in 4 years, right?”.

But I think there are going to be a lot of folks being even nastier then they are right now. They will have nothing to lose, so why pull any punches. And I mean folks on each side.
