NFL Picks: Week 1

Posted on Thursday 4 September 2008

It’s wayyyy past time to take a break from hurricanes and politics.

Tonight, football season officially gets underway — and Polimom has unearthed The Magical Golden Coin once again.

Magical golden coin

Here’s this week’s flips*:

NY GIANTS (-3.5) over Washington

St. Louis (+7.5) over PHILADELPHIA

Seattle (+0.5) over BUFFALO

MIAMI (+3.5) over NY Jets – Clearly the Coin missed the memo about Favre.

Kansas City (+16.5) over NEW ENGLAND – Too many points? We’ll see, eh?

ATLANTA (+2.5) over Detroit

NEW ORLEANS (-3.5) over Tampa Bay – I’d have been tempted to pick this even if the Coin hadn’t — though it’s amazing that they’ll be playing in the Dome.

Cincinnati (-1.5) over BALTIMORE

Jacksonville (-2.5) over TENNESSEE

PITTSBURGH (-6.5) over Houston

Carolina (+8.5) over SAN DIEGO

CLEVELAND (+5.5) over Dallas

Arizona (-2.5) over SAN FRANCISCO

INDIANAPOLIS (-9.5) over Chicago

GREEN BAY (-2.5) over Minnesota

OAKLAND (+2.5) over Denver

* As always — the home team is in CAPS, and point spreads apply.
