BTW, the sound of the ultra-low base emanating from the theater speakers in the subcompact sitting in the next lane also "resonates" with me - especially when the idiot in the drivers seat is playing his music at like 200,000 DB over the threshold of bleeding eardrums.

That doesn't mean I want the President to suggest that this is a way to address noise pollution from train whistles!

I'm very disappointed in Sen. Clinton over her embracing of this wrongheaded policy first proposed by Sen. McCain. It is wrong on so many levels that it is hard to know where to even begin the criticism, but the thing that stands out for me is the fact that this would actually encourage people to use MORE gasoline! That is the last thing we need to do. Sen. Obama has earned credit with me by opposing this stupid plan.

Congressman Udall has the right idea - as long as he doesn't advocate emptying the SPR to try and bring prices down.

The simple (but painful) fact is that high prices are what we need. They cause people to lower their use of this resource (which has the side-effect of lowering the levels of various pollutants emitted), while improving the marketability of alternate forms of energy (by making them more competitive with oil-based energy.)

We have had too many years on Easy Street - and it is coming up on time to pay the piper.
