Red Ribbons

Posted on Thursday 25 October 2007

Every year, the Katy Independent School District holds “Red Ribbon Week”. Kids dress up in silly clothes, or wear odd head-gear, and school buildings and grounds are festooned with fluttering crimson.

Red Ribbon Week

What this is supposed to be about is saying “No” to drugs — but as ever, some danged idiotz forgot to read the memo.

And while I’m thinking about it — maybe Cinco could add a pretty green ribbon here and there, too, as encouragement for students to say “No” to counterfeiting while they’re at it.

Just a thought.

Counterfeiting - at Cinco Ranch High School - who woulda thunk? Wonder if it was part of a school art project - or maybe a replacement for the bake sale?

Pretty dang-blasted amazing… and evidently the fake bills have been in circulation out this way since at least March! (??!! Better check my wallet!) So these 16 and 17 year olds kicked this off last school year, presumably when they were Sophomores and Juniors!

    I can’t believe the ribbons didn’t work!
