Sick sick sick

Posted on Monday 13 November 2006

There’s a nasty flu bug going around in Katy, and yours truly went down with it over the weekend.

FWIW — I can confirm that high fevers in adults (over 104 degrees) make for very unpleasant weekends. I can also tell you that once you finally get that danged thing contained (like we did last night), you still feel as if your head’s packed with cotton the next day (today).

So — I’m a mess, but hopefully on the mend.

I remember the last time I had a fever that high with a sinus infection. Horrible! Take care & feel better soon!

With some adults, a fever of 104 is enough to make for a trip to the ER - glad you’re not one of them!

Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Oh, and BTW I will be in NOLA the next week or so - I am driving there today, for a week long conference. When I am having my morning cafe-au-lait and beignets, I’ll try to think of you ;-)

I’m better today (finally) — thanks for the warm thoughts, both here, and in emails. It was no fun for me, but I think it was a bit scary for DH and AC, who’ve never seen mom quite so ill.

A bunch of AC’s friends (and their moms) were sick early last week with the flu, and although I got The Shot Wednesday, it was clearly too late. I’m guessing the shot combined with the virus, and double-whammied. Nasty nasty…
