And that, as they say, is that

Posted on Thursday 9 November 2006

From FoxNews:

Democrat Jim Webb has won the U.S. Senate race in Virginia, defeating incumbent Republican Sen. George Allen and giving Democrats control of the Congress for the first time since 1994.

Allen scheduled a 3 p.m. ET press conference, during which he is expected to concede the race to Webb.

Both the Senate and the House, then.

This was actually a bigger victory for the Democrats that I’d anticipated. I really, truly hope they don’t take it into their fool heads to drive us off a different cliff now.

The only reason to expect any change in the new session is that there is a new party in power. The return of incumbents in the House will be 92%…makes me wonder how much of a vote for change that is from voters over all.
