Simians Unite!

Posted on Wednesday 26 April 2006

This is just too bizarre for words (The Spain Herald):

The Spanish Socialist Party will introduce a bill in the Congress of Deputies calling for “the immediate inclusion of (simians) in the category of persons, and that they be given the moral and legal protection that currently are only enjoyed by human beings.”

And you thought the American political fringe was nuts. Ha!

Calling life superior or inferior to non-life isn’t helpful. Life has more ways to survive, generally speaking, so it tends to win. If superiority is defined by winning, then OK.
